   .. What is DiamondArt

The name DiamondArt was first created back in 1998 when the founder, Chris Diamond, was looking for a unique domain name for an online portfolio of artwork and photography. Taking two of the most obvious items, his last name - Diamond and the idea of the site which was an online art portfolio the best solution came to be DiamondArt. Until 2002 there was not an actual logo for DiamondArt because it was strictly a portfolio for personal use but with the creation of DiamondArt as a company it was very clear there needed to be an easy to recognize logo to go along with the easy to remember web address.

The DiamondArt logo has several elements to it including the graphic element to the left of the logo. The image is a combination of a camera shutter, for the photography, a stylized diamond shape to represent the Diamond name and its all stylized to represent creative artwork. The blue color was used to symbolize a calming feeling because when you use DiamondArt there is nothing to worry about!

The font used is an Arial font which is a very clean and easy to read and reproduce font. If the font is not easy to read and recognize most people will not remember it...but using a simple font has increased memory retention among customers.

In the middle of 2006, the DiamondArt logo received a 'mini' color makeover to work with the new web design layout that you see here. The shape and content of the logo remained the same but now the logo has a very light blue/gray to white fade in it. This color combination still reflects the 'calming' effect to its visitors.
